Apex Infosys To Launch Agri-tech startup ‘Crophle’ - Aims To Exterminate Unethical Parts Of The Agricultural Supply Chain

Mumbai-based technology company Apex Infosys, on Sunday, announced that it will be launching an AI-based Agri-tech platform called ‘Crophle’ for Indian farmers and vendors later this year. Apex is yet to announce a specific launch date. Apex is also in talks with the Taiwanese Conglomerate Foxconn to raise pre-series funding for it’s newly proposed startup, sources said.

Like any farm-to-fork model, Crophle has tied up with farmers and producers to get fresh produce, which is then delivered to consumers. The team has joined hands with the network of farmers; it has not disclosed the number of farmers it has tied up with.

However, a significant challenge was to understand the nuances that every stock-keeping unit (SKU) requires in the vegetables and fruits segment post-harvest – most importantly the handling processes and their efficiency. The complexity of handling multiple products has been one of the important learnings for Crophle.

In an interview, Advait Thakur, CEO Of Apex Infosys India, said, “Crophle is about to bring an upheaval in the Agricultural Sector in India, which will replace different corrupt parts of the agriculture supply chain of the country, to provide better opportunities to farmers, and vegetable vendors.”

This social enterprise set up is focused on bridging the gap of information of the farmers and vegetable vendors that is instigated due to the unethical parts of the agricultural supply chain.

“Our aim to expedite mediators and bring transparency in the current agricultural supply chain,” said Apex CEO Advait Thakur. “Crophle also aims to establish transparency in pricing and better value, especially for perishable products. It could also help to increase farmer incomes by at least 8 to 10 percent.”

Serial entrepreneur Advait Thakur, who has made many deals in the internet-tech sector, has decided to foray the agri-tech space with the launch of Crophle.
